

Online condolences may be made at Winston-Salem, North Carolinaīeatrice Bruteau, 84, of Winston-Salem passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Forsyth County. A Memorial Service will be conducted Monday at 2:00 pm, Novemat Knollwood Baptist Church officiated by Father John Hoover and Rev. Surviving to cherish her memory is her husband of 43 years, James Somerville of W-S and a brother, Fred Bruteau of Clemmons, NC. The family would also like to thank all the caregivers and Hospice for their wonderful work. In addition to Beatrice's many scholarly achievements, she was eager to share her knowledge and faith in God, her memories of teaching her third grade class and her love for her two cats Blackie and Gracie. She also edited many magazines and books, among those are, Silence in the Midst of Noise, Pfafftown, NC, Philosophers’ Exhange, 1990, and Jesus Through Jewish Eyes, Rabbis and Scholars Engage an Ancient Brother in a New Conversation, Maryknoll, NY, Orbis, 2001.

Among those she wrote are, The Psychic Grid, Radical Optimism, The Easter Mysteries, New York: Crossroad, 1995 and The Easter Mysteries, Bandra, Mumbal, India: Pauline Publications, 1997. Beatrice was an accomplished author of many books. She grew up in Jefferson City Missouri and was a graduate of Fordham University, where she earned a PHD and helped start with her husband the International Philosophical Quarterly publication.
